What Errdex is
Errdex (errdex.com) is an independent reference site that translates real Workday integration errors into plain-English troubleshooting guides. It is built and maintained by Imran Anwar. Errdex is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Workday, Inc. "Workday" is a trademark of Workday, Inc., used here only to describe the product the errors come from.
How content is sourced
Each entry pairs one factual, verbatim piece of system output (the error string itself) with troubleshooting guidance written independently for Errdex. The two are kept to different standards on purpose:
- The error message is copied exactly. It's the system's own output, not anyone's original writing, and it's usually the literal text a reader pastes into a search engine to land here.
- Everything else, the plain-English explanation, the diagnostic steps, the quick fix, the permanent fix, is written from scratch for Errdex, drawing on general Workday integration knowledge. It is never copied or paraphrased from a forum reply, a support case, or Workday's own documentation.
Some entries were inspired by a real discussion thread, for example on Workday Community. In those cases, the thread is used only to confirm the error is real and genuinely gets hit by other users, nothing more. No text from the thread, including any reply, workaround, or suggested fix, is copied or paraphrased into an entry. Every explanation, diagnostic step, and fix on Errdex is written independently, from general Workday integration knowledge, not derived from what anyone else wrote in the thread. Errdex does not source content, including for this limited confirmatory purpose, from access-restricted, partner-only, or otherwise non-public discussion spaces, regardless of whether a particular account happens to have technical access to them.
Entries submitted by visitors through the submission form require the submitter to confirm the content is their own original writing before it's reviewed.
No warranty
Errdex is provided for informational purposes only. Troubleshooting guidance is general in nature and may not fit every tenant configuration, Workday release, or specific situation. It is not official Workday documentation and is not a substitute for Workday Support, your implementation partner, or your own testing. Apply any suggested fix at your own risk, and verify against your own environment before changing anything in production.
Acceptable use
You're welcome to read, search, and link to Errdex freely. Please don't scrape the site to rebuild a competing database, use automated tools to bulk-download the content for redistribution, or misrepresent Errdex content as official Workday guidance.
